Social Worker / Community Development Worker
We are looking for a social worker or community development worker who, ideally, is eligible to become a member of the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA) or equivalent. We need people in all areas of Melbourne.
The primary role would be to support our Area Managers, which would include consultation over the phone, and attending some home visits to families. There would also be the opportunity to be involved in volunteer training workshops.
The volunteer position is suitable to a retired or part time professional who would enjoy contributing their skills on a casual basis to the MBVS organisation. We would expect the role to be approximately 2-5 hours per month.
About the organisation
MBVS recruits, trains and organises local people to provide hands-on help to families with their twins, triplets or more, particularly when they are babies. Historically we have provided these services mainly to families with triplets or more, but are currently expanding to be able to help more twin families. We are currently based in Melbourne.
We have been running since 1997, and were incorporated and obtained DGR status in 2011.
