Watch Assistant on the Spirit of New Zealand tall ship

Volunteering for the Spirit of Adventure Trust is an awesome way to be involved in helping shape positive change in the lives of young Kiwis. Sailing over 25 ten-day voyages every year along with a few shorter trips, we rely on our amazing volunteers to help make this possible.

Each voyage we sail requires 4 volunteer Watch Assistants. A Watch Assistant works closely with a group of 10 of the young people onboard a voyage. They are valued for contributing to a voyage as motivators, wholly involved at all levels. They work alongside the permanent crew, ensuring the programme runs smoothly and that all the young people are fully engaged and having a great time.

It's an incredible, fun rewarding experience full of adventure out at sea!
